Joist earned its reviews. Writing an estimate on site, turning it into an invoice, and getting paid without going back to a desk is the thing it has spent the longest getting right, and plenty of contractors have run on it for years.
Where it stops is the conversation. Joist gives you no business number and no inbox, so the texting still happens on your own phone, in a thread that isn't attached to the job and that nobody else can pick up. Its pricing page is in US dollars, too. Nothing on it is built around GST, HST, or a payout into a Canadian bank.
StrikeHoney does the quoting and the invoicing, then puts the customer's texts and emails next to the job, hands you a number that isn't your personal one, and charges one Canadian price with nothing held back for a higher tier.
The other direction is real as well. Joist tracks job expenses, syncs both ways with QuickBooks, and can offer your customer financing. StrikeHoney does none of those three. If your books live in QuickBooks, weigh that properly before you switch.
